Yin Jun Mei

  • $4000

The highest grade of Lapsang Souchong is called Jun Mei, or Beautiful Eyebrow in English, because the processed tea leaf resembles an eyebrow.  Jun Mei can be further broken down into two grades: Gold (Jin) and Silver (Yin).  Hence Yin Jun Mei.  Jun Mei differs from other Lapsang Souchongs in that it is processed using tender, full tea leaves and buds that are harvested in early spring.

Jun Mei has the smoky fragrance of any good Lapsang Souchong but the taste also has fruity sweet notes under the smoky taste.

Jun Mei is from the Wuyi Shan area of Fujian Province.

Use 1 tablespoon of tea for 12 oz. of water.

First infusion - use boiling water (212 degrees) for about 90 seconds (1.5 minutes).

You should get from 10 to 15 infusions from Yin Jun Mei.
